Sarp Gürenli is an award-winning yacht designer with a background in naval architecture and marine engineering. Over the past three years, he has emerged as a dynamic force in the global yachting industry, known for his blend of technical expertise and refined creative vision.
As the founder of GUREN Design, Sarp leads a multidisciplinary studio specializing in exterior yacht design and naval architecture. His portfolio includes a wide range of custom motor yachts and performance vessels developed in close collaboration with international shipyards and private clients.
In addition to his design work, Sarp has played an active role in the yachting community through Young Professionals in Yachting (YPY). He served as Vice President from 2023 to 2024, and in 2025, he was appointed President, continuing his commitment to supporting and connecting the next generation of industry leaders.

Emre has been in the yachting industry from a young age through his family’s business. He holds a degree in International Trade and Logistics from Yeditepe University. Emre began his professional career in trade execution and shipbroking, gaining valuable experience in maritime operations and logistics. After gaining hands-on experience in different areas of the industry, he joined his family business, Ata Yachting, where he is actively involved in yachting agency services and consultancy.

İlarya Duranoğlu is a graduate of Robert College and Istanbul University Faculty of Law. She began her career in leading maritime law firms, where she built a strong foundation in the field of shipping and yachting law. In 2024, she established her own practice, Duranoğlu Law and Consultancy, offering tailored legal solutions to clients in the maritime industry and beyond.

With over six years of hands-on experience in the yachting sector, İlarya advises clients on a wide range of matters including yacht sale and purchase, construction and refit contracts, flag registration, and corporate structuring. Her practice also extends to ship sales, chartering and shipping disputes, marine insurance, and employment law. In addition to her maritime expertise, she provides consultancy on banking and finance, real estate and commercial contracts. İlarya works closely with clients to navigate complex legal matters with clarity and confidence.

Born and raised in Balıkesir. Graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering in 2014 and later completed both a Master’s degree and an MBA. Worked as a Planning Engineer at SEDEF and RMK Marine Shipyards for five years, followed by a role in the Project Management Office at Turquoise Yachts between 2019 and 2023. Currently the Co-Founder of MORE Marine, providing services as an Owner’s Representative, Project Management & Planning Consultant and New Building Surveyor for Superyachts.

Gizem embarked on her journey in the yachting industry while studying Interior Architecture. Her first hands-on experience was being involved in every stage of a refit project — from the initial brief to the final client delivery. Over the past four years, she has contributed to different phases of projects including a refit, a concept catamaran, a serial production yacht, and a sailing superyacht. She enjoys learning something new with each project and working across different disciplines. Since joining YPY, her passion for the industry has grown even stronger, and she feels proud to be part of this community.

Business Development Specialist with an interdisciplinary background in marketing and visual storytelling, Ertuğrul brings his experience from the creative industries into the yachting sector. He currently leads business development at Mengi Yay Yachts and has been a member of the YPY Board since 2024.
