Our Chapter

Ypy Italy connects the new generations of the yachting industry with exceptional events and meetings that develop a network of prime creativity.

Our aim is to write together the future of innovation and sustainability, based on a deeply rooted sea culture that set our country as the Excellence in the nautical sector.

Being part of our community means also being part of the YPY International family.
We will set our events and educational panels throughout the year and the location will vary according to the boat shows and other big fairs and events, hoping to extend the participation as broad as possible.

Meet the board of YPY Italy

Anna Borla

Anna Borla, Product and Yacht Designer. She graduated in Product Design at Politecnico di Milano, then she got the Master in Yacht Design, MYD. Her passion for Yachts comes from her family. She was selected as a finalist in the shortlist of the Young Designer of the Year (YDOY) Award by Boat International and Oceanco Shipyard. She raised his expertise in an important Yachts and Architecture Studio in Milan for almost 10 years, working in parallel to build up her own firm, Anna Borla Design & Yachts. In addition to Yachts projects, Anna Borla Design & Yachts also design industrial products and furniture. One of the best products that has been very successful is called Hook. It is a smart and handy no touch tool, 100% made in Italy, capable of hooking to the handrails thus avoiding direct contact with surfaces. Hook also inspired the production of StaySafe by the Italian company Alessi.
Thanks to a partnership with an Italian wood furniture company, she was selected in the shortlist of Adi Design Index – Compasso d’Oro, the annual selection of the best Italian design. Her projects are shown in important national and international magazines such as CNN Travel, Daily Mail UK, Business Insider, Corriere della Sera, Robb Report, Boat International, l’Officiel, Muse.world.

Riccardo Manzoni

Riccardo Manzoni, Master’s Degree in Naval Design, is a yacht designer based between Monaco and Milan, Italy. In 2014 he joined Mariotti Shipyard in Genoa, Italy, working as interior outfitting manager, coordinating all the outfitting works on board, between shipyard technical department, suppliers, client and classification society. After 2 years in Genova, in 2016 he moved to Sweden and joined the Swedish company Tillberg Design Of Sweden (TDoS), working there as senior designer and exterior design specialist, actively developing the yacht segment of the company. At Tillberg his work focuses on Exterior Design (Styling, 2D/3D Modeling and renderings), outdoor decks outfitting, layout and operations, general arrangements, technical specs & coordination with shipyards; anything from concept to building phase.
Usually focusing on private clients yachts with shipyards such as Lurssen, Nobiskrug and Oceanco, he also designed the Evrima vessel (Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection) and the Four Seasons Yacht.
He has participated since 2015 at every major yacht show internationally oriented, from MYS (Monaco) to FLIBS (USA).

Arianna Bionda

Arianna Bionda (f), PhD in Design, is researcher and professor at the Design Department, Politecnico di Milano. Architect, sailor and yacht designer, since 2014 she is involved in teaching and research activities within the interdisciplinary research group in Yacht Design and Vessel Design, the SMaRT Lab, and the Master program in Yacht Design at Politecnico di Milano. Her research activities are mainly focus on innovative technologies and materials role in a yacht design project, their current dynamics and practices of interaction. She is also involved in national and international project mainly focused on Yacht Design Digitalization and Design for Sustainability: Industry 4.0, digital technologies onboard, smart shipbuilding, design for sustainable material and technology, alternative fuel vessel design, design for circular economy, design for disassembly and for recycling, design for sustainable social innovation and sustainable business model, and design4all. Furthermore, she is vice-director of the Specialized Master in Yacht Design, Director of the Executive Interior Yacht Design course and Project Manager of the sports&design team ‘Polimi Sailing Team’.
