Our Chapter
Young Professionals in Yachting The Netherlands quarterly assemblies provide a consistent platform for its members to interact with one another and create lasting relationships – professionally and personally. Following in the footsteps of well-established chapters, so too did the success of YPY The Netherlands inspire a new wave of young professionals in the international yachting sector to come together with new groups being formed in New Zealand and Germany in its wake.

Meet the board of YPY The Netherlands
Nikusia began her career in yachting in 2018, at ONE & YachtCloud where she is working as a Marketing & Sales Manager now. She joined the YPY on one of her first days in yachting and has now proudly taken on the role of president. Her goal as president? Get as many new people to the industry onboard, and give them a fun, relaxed, and inspiring platform to network, share knowledge, and start building their relationships! The YPY has been extremely valuable for the kickstart of her career, and she cannot wait to share this with others.
Nikusia Kooijmans
President
Geselien is working in the industry now for almost 8 years. Her experience with working onboard and the fact that she visited the yard as a kid on her father’s hand almost every Saturday, made it clear she wanted to work in the industry. Especially the actual build of the yacht interests her and that’s how she ended up at her position at Vitters Shipyard these days. She joined the YPY a year ago, just after COVID-19, and became a board member 2 weeks later. Her goals as an event manager at the YPY are to throw the most fun, inspirational, and educational events and to connect people in the industry.
Geselien Harsevoort
Events Manager
Originally from Bordeaux, Xavier came to Amsterdam in 2014 for his first job and a few years of international experience. He actually enjoyed the life and the work opportunities very much and ended up staying in the Netherlands going from building sailing yachts at Holland Jachtbouw to engineering motor yachts at Azure Naval Architects and now Feadship. Xavier is a member from the first days of the Dutch chapter and really enjoys the social and networking aspect of it but he is especially enthusiastic about the opportunities to learn and develop himself. As part of the YPY Board, Xavier’s focus is on sponsors and will help add value to the members during upcoming events.

After graduating in business administration, Lisanne accidentally ended up in yachting covering a maternity leave at Oceanco. Completely falling in love with the beauty of yachting – and Rotterdam! –, she is now working in the industry for over three years. She is passionate about marketing and working together with dedicated and inspiring people, which is why she is happy to have joined the YPY NL board in 2022 taking care of communication. Lisanne hopes to meet, inspire, and connect many young professionals through the YPY activities.

An annual membership to the YPY – The Netherlands is €100,- (excl. VAT). The fee covers all activities, food and beverages during official YPY events from the 1st January to the 31st December.
